F-DISEC

Future disarmament and international security committee

In the year 2042, AI has emerged as the ultimate arbiter of power, with authoritarian regimes leveraging it to control citizens, suppress dissent, and expand their dominion. The US-China rivalry has escalated immensely since the 2025 tariff war and ignited a global AI arms race, with states radicalized against each other in a battle for power. The USA, backed by EU and NATO countries, faces off against China, supported by other authoritarian regimes such as DPRK and Russia. As tensions escalate, AI-driven surveillance, disinformation, and automated weapons have become potent tools in the conflict at hand. The trade war of 2025 has given way to a full-blown war, with AI at its epicenter. The world teeters on the brink of chaos, with the fate of humanity hanging precariously in the balance. However, delegates must adapt to new foreign policies as states have changed over the decades. For example, the USA itself has shifted towards authoritarianism, blurring the lines between democratic and autocratic ideologies. Delegates, it's upon you to navigate this treacherous landscape, forge alliances, and decide the future of global citizens and AI's trajectory. Will you harness AI for humanity's betterment, or will it remain a tool for oppression?
