Interviewed by Ava Davar (Del of Republic TV)

Amatullah Poonawala, Arnav Jain and Aadit, The Chairs of The Congress of Vienna took time out of their busy committee to attend an interview with us. They shared things from MUN stories to TV shows.

q.What was your first impression of MUN? What was it like for a first timer?

Amatullah: “Mine was really boring. It was during covid so it was an online MUN.”

Arnav: “Even mine was a covid MUN. It was pretty entertaining. Honestly, at first I hated it but genuinely on the second day I started liking it a bit more. But at first I was so scared and I just hated it.”

Aadit: ”It was scary at first. I was part of a niche committee. It was a Harry Potter committee and I didn’t know any MUN procedure, I just knew an absurd amount of Harry Potter information. None of that knowledge mattered because it wasn’t MUN related so it was scary. I had a covid MUN”

q.How does it feel to come back to school after graduating to do this?

Aadit: It’s a lot of fun. I really miss school and I like coming back and giving back to the community that nurtured and shaped me.

q.What was your most memorable experience during MUN?

Amatullah: I said that women should not get rights and should work as housemaids and I still won Best Delegate.”

Arnav: “Winning Best Delegate at HMUN India 2025”

Aadit: “Chairing MUN. The last 4 of them.”

Q. How does it feel to go from participating in MUNs to hosting them

Arnav: “It’s like a full circle moment because I could still imagine myself being that delegate sitting and trying to raise their plaque card. I remember being a delegate going to a MUN for the first time and being really scared to speak to now being able to speak whenever I want and very confidently.”

Aadit: “For me I think after being a delegate, chairing in MUNs is a lot of fun because I get to experience what the chair feels like as well. Honestly, it’s much less effort being a chair than being a delegate and it’s much more fun. Also, because I used to be a delegate I can sometimes tell when a delegate is not enjoying or needs some assistance so as a chair I can do my job better. “

q.If you were a food, what would you be?

Amatullah: “I would be a slushie because they are cool and fun.”

Arnav: I would be a Margherita Pizza because it’s simple and nice.”

Aadit:”Pani Puri because it’s my favourite food.”

q.Who is one person that inspired you or shaped your personality?

Amatullah:” I saw my brother doing MUN which is why I started it.”

Arnav: “My father.”

Aadit: “Zane from Ninjago

q.When you were young, what was your dream job?

Amatullah: “I just wanted to be a lawyer.”

Arnav: “I wanted to be in the army.I wanted to be a soldier”

Aadit: “I wanted to be a scientist.”

q.What current TV shows are you watching?

Amatullah: “Gossip Girl”

Arnav: “The Mentalist”

Aadit:” House of the Dragon”

q.If there was a movie written about you, who would play you?

Amatullah:”I can’t choose.”

Arnav:” I would go with insane actor Dev Patel.”

Aadit: “Dev from Slumdog Millionaire.

Q. What is one song that you had on repeat while preparing for this mun?

Amatullah: ”I listened to Olivia Rodriga’s new album.”

Arnav: “Since I was working very hard and spent a lot of time on this MUN I was listening to Fred Again.”

Aadit: “Actually I was only listening to one song while doing anything MUN related. It is called Dogs by Pink Floyd. “

The group finished off by arguing about who the best Spiderman was.
